IoT: Concept to Working Prototype
A three-hour practical IoT workshop where students explore GPS, ESP32 and Wi-Fi connectivity and build a simple location-tracking prototype under expert guidance.
What happened and what followed
MIE Era Foundation successfully conducted a student-focused workshop on *“IoT: Concept to Working Prototype”* on *12 September 2026*. The session aimed to provide students with practical insights into the fundamentals of the Internet of Things and its journey from concept development to a functional prototype.
The programme commenced with an *opening speech and welcome address by the Programme Manager, setting the context and objectives of the workshop. This was followed by an address from the **Incubation Manager*, who briefed the students about upcoming events, learning opportunities, and activities at the foundation.
The workshop then continued with an engaging *presentation by the host*, covering key concepts of IoT and its practical implementation in prototype development.
The session concluded with the *distribution of certificates to participating students*, followed by refreshments and an opportunity for informal interaction and networking.
Verified outcomes
Students gained a foundational understanding of IoT concepts, components, and applications.
Participants learned how an IoT idea can be developed into a working prototype.
The session provided exposure to the practical implementation and workflow of IoT-based solutions.
Students enhanced their awareness of emerging opportunities and upcoming learning activities through the incubation ecosystem.
Participation certificates were awarded to students upon completion of the workshop.
Continuation and follow-up
The workshop will be followed by hands-on learning opportunities and upcoming technical programmes to help students further develop their understanding of IoT. Interested participants will be encouraged to engage in prototype-building activities, future workshops, and incubation initiatives for continued practical learning and innovation.
