Vision-Based Edge AI: From Camera to Face Recognition
A beginner-friendly, demonstration-led workshop showing how camera frames move through face detection, cropping and recognition on a completely offline Edge-AI system.
What happened and what followed
MIE Era Foundation conducted a workshop on **“Vision-Based Edge AI: From Camera to Face Recognition”** on **14 September 2026**, with students as the primary participants.
The programme commenced with an **opening address by the Programme Manager**, who welcomed the participants and introduced the session. This was followed by a **technical presentation by the host**, providing participants with an overview of vision-based Edge AI, its applications, and the journey from camera-based systems to face recognition.
The workshop concluded with **refreshments and the distribution of participation certificates** to the attendees, recognising their active participation and engagement throughout the session.
Verified outcomes
Participants attended a structured session covering the concept and application of vision-based Edge AI, as presented by the host.
The presentation specifically addressed the progression from camera-based visual input to face-recognition applications, giving participants exposure to the overall workflow.
Participants were introduced to the role of Artificial Intelligence, computer vision, and edge-based processing in vision applications.
The session provided participants with awareness of practical applications of face-recognition and vision-based AI technologies.
Continuation and follow-up
The completion of the workshop was formally acknowledged through the distribution of participation certificates to attendees.
The programme concluded with refreshments and participant interaction, marking the successful completion of the workshop.
